As an Educational Consultant and Treatment Placement Specialist, most of the families with whom I work come to me from trusted friends and professionals. My past and current clients are great resources for other families who are seeking help. I feel my practice is the result of caring, long-term relationships that build with each family. I believe that my many years of experience in diverse professional capacities in the area of out-of-home placement gives me both the knowledge and wisdom to assist families in crisis.
Although I am very knowledgeable about all of the schools and programs to which I refer, it’s the people at those schools and programs which I value most. While the quality of a given school or program is certainly important, I believe that the personalities of those in leadership positions are equally so. For that reason, I find that developing relationships with these people is very important as I seek to find the very best options to offer you for your son or daughter.
My Process
Should you wish to engage me to assist you, the process generally begins with an initial consultation, usually by phone at no cost to you. If you believe that my services will be helpful, we move forward with a signed engagement agreement and I then take a full history, followed by the execution of a release of information to give me authority to speak with other professionals you have seen. These professionals become my partners in sharing information to help me inform you of the best options for your family.
The recommendations specific to the needs of your family and your son or daughter come after I am intimately familiar with your needs. I choose schools and programs for your individualized needs. After carefully reviewing your son’s or daughter’s needs with the prospective schools or programs, I then review placement alternatives with you. Once a decision is made, I then monitor progress and remain your advocate for the duration of placement.
I am not affiliated with any school or program; my only compensation comes from the families who contract with me for services. I spend a significant amount of time touring schools and programs and meeting with staff in order to stay current with all available choices.
